Having worked at international organizations throughout (almost) my entire career, I came to realize that much of the work Global Mobility departments at international organizations do, has been digitalized. This itself is not a such much worrying development, however it does worry me that empathy is an underestimated aspect of assignees in relocation. Coming from an expat family myself, and having experienced the challenges of living abroad, this empathy comes naturally to me and I consider this my strongest asset in work. I am capable of understanding and feelings the employees’ (and family’s) needs without losing sight of the business needs and budget. Besides I am good at building bridges between people,
